Heather Bickel Stevenson

Starting as a 5 year old little girl, my hearts desire has been to support anyone and everyone who was having a hard time. My mom and grandma were both nurses, so I have been exposed to health care since a young age. I remember my mom frequently stopping at car accidents we saw on the road. I’d watch her jump into action and take care of everyone. I always admired her willingness to serve in that way and watched in awe of what she could do under pressure. Then in 4th grade, my best friend was diagnosed with a severe and fast growing cancer. Even at such a young age, I was by her side through all of her chemo and radiation appointments. She eventually passed away, and losing her had a huge impact on my life. I believe it impacted me to pursue a career in the health field.

Throughout middle school, high school, and college, I was known as someone safe to talk to about anything. I loved helping others work through their challenges in a safe environment. From 1997-2000 I pursued my BSN and became a Registered Nurse. During school, my biggest highlight was co-creating a foot clinic for the homeless in downtown Atlanta. After I graduated, I felt called to work with lower income patients in the community. I did 5 years in downtown Atlanta at a clinic, with my focus being on working with prenatal clients and births, along with adult medicine. During that time though, I realized that nursing was just a means to get to connect with the hearts, emotions, and stories of people. This got me super curious about pursing my Masters in Counseling, and I quickly enrolled. During my time in schooling for counseling, I found such delight in working as an HIV nurse and a health promoter trainer at another clinic in Philadelphia. I found myself learning skills at school and then immediately applying them with my patients at the clinic, and found this to be an extremely helpful way to learn.

Noticing my ongoing passion for helping others to heal from the inside out, I went on to pursue my certificate in spiritual direction, or what I call “Soul Companioning”. We are all on a spiritual journey of some sorts, and I love walking with someone as they process that journey and their life. Then, all of a sudden in 2012, after marrying the man of my dreams at 36 years old, my body collapsed from Lyme Disease. Since then, its been an up and down process of battling Lyme, but thankfully I am doing much better because of the detailed natural protocol I used and I am in the process of helping many others with chronic illnesses to get better. My current pursuits are sharing natural health options with people, studying aromatherapy, getting certified in Organic Intelligence and learning and employing anything I can to help others.

I’m the medical practitioner who always happens to be around when an emergency goes down on an airplane or on an average day. There’s nothing more I love than jumping in to help when someone needs that help the most. So whether you’re just looking for a little extra bliss in your life, or your feeling defeated by an illness, environment, or emotional state, I feel confident that together we can develop a protocol and cultivate the supportive relationship necessary to set your soul on fire.
